Australia What’s In A Name, A Name To Remember

Whenever I have to wait in line for something, I am always looking for something to read to pass the time. Just because I was at the foreign currency exchange didn’t mean I wouldn’t find something to my liking. I picked up a little pamphlet on Australian Monetary History. Very enlightening. Their money was once pounds, shillings and pence. But in the 60’s these were replaced by the decimal system. It seems they had a time giving this money a name. Suggestions were from modest to quite bizarre. Names like, the roo or the bloody paper. Finally, the name Royal was settled on.
