Don’t Let Kids Internet Surf Alone
I know most parents try to keep their kids shielded from the Internet for all of the obvious things that kids don’t need to see and hear at their young ages. But even kid-friendly looking sites can harbor some pretty yucky stuff as far as the safety of your computer goes. The kids on our block like to play different computer games, so I started letting my daughter spend more unsupervised time online. Before I knew what was happening, the computer started moving really sluggishly. Then windows kept popping up that I never opened. It almost felt like a ghost was living in our computer. When I called a technician, he checked it out and said he needed to remove spyware that we had picked up from some of the game websites. My daughter is not playing anything until I check the website myself from now on.
